Microsoft and Warner Bros required a special operations team for a critical mission: bring the deadly & terrifying setting of Back 4 Blood to a customized gaming console. The initial artistic direction was not to base the console system on a zombie type. We needed to stay true to the game’s main characteristics: bloody, destroyed buildings, accessories, and grisly!

Back 4 Blood is a thrilling cooperative first-person shooter from the creators of the Left 4 Dead franchise. Experience the war against the Ridden: once-human hosts of deadly parasites & terrifying creatures bent on devouring what remains of civilization. It’s up to YOU and your friends to eradicate the Ridden and reclaim the world.
CREATIVE PROCESS
The final result is based on half-destroyed buildings seen in the game trailer. The controller reflects the gorier side of Back 4 Blood. The customized gaming system is packed in a case based on the orange resource crates hidden through the game’s levels. A crate-ive finishing touch
The finishing result incorporated a large building’s central beam, partly shattered, with metal reinforcements coming out of the broken parts. Of course, it had to don the Back 4 Blood logo, with a dash of blood.
